Argentina, Chile and Antarctica - At a Glance

Argentina

Romantic and passionate, Argentina is a land of sensuous pleasures, from the tango halls and football stadiums of Buenos Aires to the plains where the gauchos roam and the spectacular force of the Iguazu Falls. Mendoza is mecca for wine lovers, while the peaks of the Andes, the Lake District, Tierra del Fuego, and the glaciers of Calafate add to the spectacle and create enduring memories.

Chile

Chile is nature on overload. Diverse landscapes reveal themselves over a 3,000 mile stretch: dunes, valleys, volcanoes, gigantic glaciers and fjords. It is incredible to find this great wilderness so intact. T

Antarctica

Antarctica’s otherworldly remoteness, incredible ice shelves and mountain ranges, and exotic life forms are all on offer.

Secured by the Antarctic Treaty, Antarctica hosts some of the world’s most extraordinary species. Whales, seals and emperor penguins are highlights, along with albatrosses and petrels. Wildlife is typically uninterested in you so photo opportunities are abundant.

Kayaking and even sleeping on the ice are possible.

Bolivia

Bolivia is a land of high altitude, with both the world’s highest capital and the world’s highest lake. There are extremes aplenty, with exotic jungle, snowy mountains, and vast salt flats, as well as colonial and ancient histories to explore.

The Chilean capital is a cosmopolitan and atmospheric city where ancient architecture meets modern skyscrapers, historical attractions are interspersed with contemporary art galleries, and people of all cultures, colors and religions live side by side.

It is considered Chile’s most important financial and business centre and offers an almost inexhaustible range of leisure and entertainment options. Its backdrop of mountains makes it strikingly scenic, while its diversity is at once fascinating and refreshing.

The scenic park stretches over 242 000 hectares of magnificent landscape featuring snow-capped mountains, ancient glaciers, cascading waterfalls, golden grasslands and several lakes that attract a variety of water birds. The incredibly breathtaking beauty of this park attracts flocks of visitors each year. You can view the iconic three granite pillars of the Torres del Paine which tower over the landscape of emerald forests meeting impossibly blue lake, soak up the spectacular vistas, and spot the endemic guanaco lama that roams the hills as well as the Andean condor that soar above the towering peaks.

Stay at Awasi Patagonia

DAY 9-11 TRACK PUMAS

You will have these 3 full days to search for pumas.

Pumas are active very early or late at night so you will wake up early each morning to track them.
