And as far as trout fishing is concerned, New Zealand is beginner-friendly with an abundance of fish in an easily accessible and beautiful environment. New Zealand is also where you can fish in the morning, have lunch together and do something totally different in the afternoon. Takes all the pressure off the day, and makes everyone happy.
The well known rivers, like our popular hikes, are busy, crowded even. But, just as there are hundreds of kilometres of unknown beautiful walking tracks, there are also dozens of lesser known rivers. Why be where everyone else is?
And as a special treat for people who really love trout, we have a special experience of a trip back in time to see how trout behaved before tourism came to these fair shores.
A special stretch of river which no one knows about. Eel fishing is something we do from a cultural perspective, understanding the environment, working within it, and then finding just the right eel to catch and smoke. Freshly smoked wild eel is truly spectacular.
So, whether you are motivated by fishing technique; environment; target species or the dinner plate – there is more than enough to choose from here – we just show you where to go.
“My wife and I wanted to travel through Chile, Bolivia and Peru and were slightly daunted by the logistics of organising such a varied trip.John Resse, USA
Chris was incredibly helpful not only mapping out the most exciting and engaging trip, but also using his extensive personal knowledge of the best things to do. They were reassuringly efficient in organising the trip, monitoring how we were doing during the trip and making adjustments to improve the trip.Tracy Williams, UK
Chris’s passion and enthusiasm encouraged us to do things we wouldn't have thought to do, which gave us fantastic memories of the trip of a lifetime.”Tony Thomas, USA
