Uyuni Salt Flats – Bolivia

Bolivia boasts the largest salt lake in the world – Salar de Uyuni – and you can reach it by traveling overland from San Pedro de Atacama. There are spellbinding lagoons dotted with pink flamingos, weird rocks and geysers and a choice of touring options – mostly via 4×4 vehicles.

The sound of silence makes the heart beats faster and the surreal pentagons of crystalline salt, the pure sky, the color lagoons, the cacti and the flamingos, certainly makes you feel that there is no other place like this in the whole world.

Enjoy a superb gourmet lunch on the Salt Lake, optimizing this way the already spectacular visit of the Uyuni Salt Flats, one of the most isolated regions of the planet.

Your chef, accompanied by his mobile multifunctional kitchen & bar, prepares typical dishes adapted to international palates.

In this salt desert, there is nothing except the profiles of the mountains when the horizon is not just a blue line in the distance. All these features make the Uyuni Salt Lake ideal for taking pictures and a challenge for the photographers, achieving stunning photographs impossible to perform elsewhere.
Thanks to the absence of geographical references, it is very simple to make special effects in which the distance appears infinite and sizes are distorted. Having someone at the tip of your hand or be as small as a shoe is so easy, capturing a magical moment.

You can camp, sleep in a retro Airstream, or stay in a salt hotel.
