Sample Day by Day
- Day 1: Arrive Delhi and spend the night at the Pullman Hotel near the airport. If time permits, enjoy a tour of bustling Delhi (D)
- Day 2: Fly to Leh, Ladakh. Stay at The Grand Dragon. Acclimate to the high altitude. (B,L,D)
- Day 3: Discover hidden delights of Leh with your private guide, and visit the Snow Leopard Conservancy as well as Tibetan-style Thiksey Monastery (B,L,D)
- Day 4: Today you set out for an extraordinary drive east heading towards Taglang La and the villages of Gya, Lhato and Meru. This is dramatic scenery and you have a chance of sighting wildlife including Blue sheep, Golden eagles and Bearded vultures.(B,L,D)
- Day 5-11: In search of snow leopards.
- Drive west today on the road to Kargil and Srinagar, generally following the Indus River.
- This is all snow leopard country. You have 7 nights in Ulley at the Snow Leopard Lodge homestay.
- Settle in on arrival and acclimatize to the higher altitude of Ulley. You will explore 3 valleys, which, apart from snow leopards, are great for finding urial, Ibex, wolf and Himalayan fox.
- Track snow leopards on foot and in SUV’s with your expert guide. There will also be plenty of opportunity for you to get insights into local folklore, as well as learn about local customs and traditions (B,L,D)
- Day 12: Transfer back to Leh for one more night (B,L,D)
- Day 13: Fly back to Delhi and fly out (B)
