Frequently Asked Questions

What is a super-tusker elephant and how does my trip help protect them?

Super-tuskers are elephants with tusks so large they reach the ground, and only a few dozen remain in Africa, most of them in Kenya. Your contribution on an Impact Destinations Kenya journey funds the conservation work protecting them, and in return you track them with the field teams across remote savannah where few visitors go.

Can I see super-tusker elephants on a private Kenya safari?

Yes. The tracking takes place with the conservationists who monitor these elephants daily, in areas beyond the standard safari circuit, so sightings are far more likely than on a conventional game drive, though never guaranteed with wild animals.

Is Kenya a good choice for a first philanthropic safari with children or grandchildren?

It is one of the best. Kenya combines a clear, visible cause with classic safari comfort, and we pace the tracking days and choose camps to suit the ages in your group.
