Relocating orang-utans to a safe location – Indonesia

Your donation of $30,000 unlocks your philanthropic experience: witnessing the release of rescued
Orang Utans into a safer forest environment.

This involves flying from Jakarta (or Surabaya) to Pontianak then by smaller plane to Sintang, You are met by the team, taken to Banga Pinoh by car for a night in simple accommodation. Travel together with the team and orang-utans  on a very long journey of some 20 hours, part by 4WD jeep, part by boat up river, and where nothing else is accessible, on foot to a camp hut in the forest, your home for the next two nights.

The hut is very basic, but has toilet and kitchen. Simple Indonesian meals are prepared. The next day release the orang-utans into the forest, and the following day embark on the return journey, with another night in Banga Pinoh. We travel the next day to depart from Sintang airport to Pontianak and onwards.

Total 4 nights required for this experience.

You need to be aware that this experience uses off road tracks, is a very bumpy journey, with hard walking. The facilities are incredibly basic. This is only for the hardy.

What our clients say about us

Incredible Experience

“My wife and I wanted to travel through Chile, Bolivia and Peru and were slightly daunted by the logistics of organising such a varied trip.

John Resse, USA

Best Trip Organiser

Chris was incredibly helpful not only mapping out the most exciting and engaging trip, but also using his extensive personal knowledge of the best things to do. They were reassuringly efficient in organising the trip, monitoring how we were doing during the trip and making adjustments to improve the trip.

Tracy Williams, UK

Fantastic Memories

Chris’s passion and enthusiasm encouraged us to do things we wouldn't have thought to do, which gave us fantastic memories of the trip of a lifetime.”
